Synopsis

Set during the turbulent final years of the Sui Dynasty, the story follows Dao Ma, an exceptionally skilled mercenary who travels the desolate Western regions with his young son. Once an elite imperial guard, he now lives as a bounty hunter to pay off his debts. Dao Ma takes on a highly dangerous escort mission: protecting a mysterious mask-wearing traveler on a journey across the deadly desert toward the capital city of Chang'an.
